River life

A stay on the Santa Fe river was our summer "trip" this year..... (our friends the Huerta's said that a vacation is more when it is just you and your spouse and when it is with your kids it is a "trip" ,because with kids comes fun ....but lots of work too)! We were able to stay at this river house for nothing except paying for the cleaning lady. What a BLESSING! Another blessing was the joining of our friends the Huerta's from Alabama. We do not get to see them often and were so excited that we got together this year. Here are a few of our pictures from our 5 day stay at the river.
Elijah and Emma hanging out together. The house had three stories and 5 bedrooms. The kids had a blast with this.... the stairs were a little stressful with Luke. Elijah loved riding the golf cart and fishing off the deck. He caught two fish and that was truly the highlight of the trip.

Paul and the boys....snuggling.
We went to Ginnie Springs one day and it was so beautiful. Like Stacy said "isn't it amazing that God made this just for our pleasure"! It was so beautiful to the eyes and cold to the toes!!!! Luke didn't care for it too much ,because he couldn't understand that you had to stay in for a while to get adjusted to the water. So, Paul and I could only take quick dips. Everyone else really enjoyed swimming in the water.
A view of the river on the pontoon boat. My favorite part of the whole trip was riding the boat around 6:30 or 7:00. It was cooler and sooooooo peaceful! One day we went out earlier in the day and found a rope swing. Makayla, Hannah, Jake, Steve, Paul and I all swung off it into the water. It was a lot of fun and the kids didn't want to stop taking turns swinging into the water.
Jake and Luke hanging out on the boat during one of our evening rides.
Makayla and Hannah loved swimming in the river. They would jump off the floating dock and climb up on the rafts Steve and Paul strung together and tied onto the dock.
